Kat and Joe’s wedding day was one of the hottest days this summer. It really was! But nothing could ever disturb a perfect ceremony held for the Bride and Groom in a small chapel in Folwark Wasowo in Poland. The whole day was so emotional, joyful and fun, I’m sure the newlyweds and their guests will never forget this day (I know I won’t!).
Wedding in Folwark Wasowo
Kat and Joe are a very special couple. They live in London, but they decided to have their wedding in Poland, where the Bride was born. Their families and friends both from England and Poland gathered together to celebrate the most important day of their lives. And what a day that was! Everything was planned to the smallest detail. I was really impressed how they managed to do that living abroad and without the help from wedding planners!
Kat and Joe’s wedding guests came to Folwark a day early and had time to meet other guests and have a good night sleep before a looong night. The venue grounds are really big, so they also had hand-drawn maps (drew by the mum of the Bride). All maps and signposts were made in a “Lord of the Rings” style (you’ll see in the pictures!). Let’s add the fact, that Kat and Joe made their rings all by themselves in a little place called “The Quarter Workshop”. That’s what I call Lord of the Rings style!
Kat made her way to the alter with four bridesmaids, all in the same dresses. Joe on the other hand had an army of groomsmen by his side. The Ceremony (held in 2 languages) was beautiful and moving. Kat and Joe’s friend Doug was singing during the ceremony with his voice of an angel.
Shortly after the ceremony guests walked to the barn, where the prosecco van was waiting for them. After the wishes and dinner, there was time for speeches. Bride, Groom, Best Man and the Maid of Honour (with her sister) all gave their speeches. There was not a dry eye during the Bride’s speech, followed by funny stories from the Best Man. After that all the guests started dancing and the reception lasted until morning (Polish style!)
What a great day that was and what great people I got to meet! I’ll meet with Kat and Joe once again in December during our winter session in Cambridge. Stay tuned for that! 🙂 If you’re looking for a photographer to capture your wedding day anywhere in Poland, England or anywhere else really – that’s me!
